Silvia Cuesta is a dancer, creator, teacher and founder of the Cu-Max Body Method. She holds a diploma in Classical Dance from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and has nearly forty years’ experience in the performing arts, both on stage and in teaching. Throughout her career, she has expanded her education in disciplines such as yoga, Pilates, the biomechanics of movement, injury prevention, the Alexander Technique and neuroscience applied to the body.

The Cu-Max Body Method was conceived in 2003, drawing on her experience as a professional dancer and her rehabilitation process following a serious knee injury. It is a harmonious and holistic body method based on working the deep muscles and following a specific sequence: releasing tension, creating space within the body, stretching, aligning and strengthening.

This work enabled her to recover from her injury, to continue developing her artistic career and to keep dancing to this day. At the same time, it helps to improve posture, the quality of movement and physical wellbeing in a mindful and respectful way.

Her artistic and teaching career, combined with the detailed knowledge of the body she has acquired through dance and the prevention of injuries, has enabled her to develop a methodology suitable for both movement professionals as well as anyone interested in improving their physical health.

For more than twenty years, she has been teaching this method to dancers, sportspeople, adults and elderly people, helping them to reduce tension, prevent injuries and adopt healthier physical habits, with the aim of promoting a life characterised by greater wellbeing, fulfilment and freedom.
