THE RAIN WILL FALL ON EVERYTHING

A contemporary dance exploration following a year marked by deaths and losses that profoundly transformed the way I experience myself. The rain in Santiago came as catastrophic news, entering everywhere, right down to the innermost cracks. All the things that scream – they embrace each other firmly realizing how much they have changed, they recognize – each other – and – not. Days of stillness and decay alternate with moments of desire, laughter and movement. It’s raining cats and dogs.

Claudia Sprenger García. A dancer, choreographer, teacher and dance-movement therapist born in Santiago, Chile. She graduated in Dance and Choreography in Santiago and subsequently moved to Barcelona to train as a dance-movement therapist. Her career has focused on pedagogy, scenic creation and psycho-physical research. She has worked as a teacher of composition, contemporary dance and movement rhythm for children, teenagers and adults. She has also assisted people with severe disabilities, experiences which have deepened her interest in non-verbal language and the relational possibilities of movement. Her practice is further enriched by literature, singing, flamenco, philosophy, meditation and various body-based disciplines.
