CRA’P resident June 2017

LIKES

Since 2015 Núria Guiu studies a degree on Anthropology and Human Evolution and a Iyengar Yoga TTC in Copenhagen.

LIKES is the first version of a dance project which is based on the anthropological research method. The material of work and research is based on two physical practices which accumulate millions of likes and followers through the internet: the Cover Dance phenomenon and the yoga practice and its varietés or “yoga hybrids”, which have emerged and spread massively through social networks during the last years.

The likes are new symbols of social prestige as well as a barometer of success for many companies, organizations, celebrities and individuals. Who, how and according to what operates this barometer? LIKES questions the way we read, understand, approve or disapprove the “other.”
