CRA’P resident April 2012 – October 2012 to March 2013 – December 2017 to November 2019

CUERPO DOCUMENTO

Cuerpo-Documento, is a scenic and research project that begins in 2012, in which the body is understood as a research field and a practice. The project is conceived as a multidisciplinary performative archive. It is linked to a practice that draws lines between the installation, the choreography and the performance. It explores a diversity of languages ​​such as video, photography and iconography. It focuses on the female body as a document, as a place to meet and debate. A potentially poetic space.

The project is divided in two trajectories and practices: performance pieces and the archive.

PERFORMANCE PIECES:

Cuerpo-Documento / Serie 1: is a performative proposal consisting of four pieces / folders, all of them independent and at the same time related. Each piece is 10 to 15 minutes. The project has been shown at the DNA Festival 2018 in Navarra, and La Caldera and the Antic Theatre in Barcelona.

THE ARCHIVE:

Is both a depositary and an artistic visual recipient of all the materials conforming so far, Cuerpo-documento. A performative activation of the archive is due for 2019.

Collaborations:

In the course of 2011 – 2012, within the framework of the Master in scenic practice and visual culture the project is supervised by Carlos Marquerie. Between 2011 and 2017, Esther Freixa i Ràfols collaborates in the working and development process, and from January 2018 she takes the artistic direction of the project. From June 2018, Toni Cots gives advice on the research related to the archive.

This project has been in residence at: C.A.C.H. Contemporary Art Center of Huarte, Navarra; Azala; Dance Festival of Navarra D.N.A; Culture Department of the City of Tudela, Gaztambide Theatre and Dance Space Navarra / Dantzagunea of ​​Navarra; La Caldera 2018; Co-production and premiered at the Dance Festival of Navarra D.N.A, 2018; In June 2018, the project of the grants to the plastic and visual arts was awarded a visual arts grant, managed by the Contemporary Art Centre of Huarte on behalf of the Government of Navarre. At the same time, it has received support for research from the Archives of the museums MACBA and MUSAC. Since August 2018 is also a project in reseidence at the Theatre School of Navarra in Pamplona.

Estitxu Arroyo Sánchez is a performer, actress and multidisciplinary theatre maker. She studied at the Navarra School of Theatre, and has a BA in Theatre at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. Was awarded an scholarship for further study at the University der Künste in Berlin (UdK) and was a student of the MA in scenic practice and visual culture by the University of Alcalá de Henares and Artea, in collaboration with the Museo Reina Sofía, La casa encendida and Matadero in Madrid. Currently, she is a teacher in the artistic studies of the high school of art of Corella, Navarra. He also teaches yoga in different spaces and places. At the same time, she works as a storyteller, and gives classes and workshops based on the creative act, the live arts and movement.
