CRA’P presents “The earth and the neighbourhood” a show by Danilo Facelli, Hugo Martínez and Ana Alfaro

It spins on a constant journey, the planet. Life moves, is moving, it inhabits encompassing everything, and the whole universe fits in a cup of coffee. We keep on spinning. On the other side of the world it’s night, and someone dances, someone watches, someone dies. Next to home, someone dies, someone watches, someone dances, it’s daytime.

The Earth and the Neighbourhood is a performance of poetry staged with live music and singing, based on the poetry book with the same title, written by Danilo Facelli, and published by Edicions Tremendes (Girona).

Ana Alfaro. One could say that my first steps were singing in my village band, traditional music and a crooked tooth that showed every time I raised my voice. All this decorated with wide shirt collars with lace and hair with straight fringes. It was April 1990, and my first performance was for the festivities of the Virgin of the Head in Nerpio, I was about six years old. When I was older, the weddings and communions of all my family and soul mates came along. The marriages had two parts, the formal part and what could be considered the ‘after-wedding’. I sang equally in both parts. And now I sing in Anuk, the duo with Hugo Martínez, born out of a desire to sing without any pretensions, other than to enjoy and leave the mind aside, to allow the emotions to take control and bits and pieces of the soul to come out. With Anuk we have sung in the streets of Girona, and at private parties. At the same time, I am in La Tierra y el Barrio, a project of staged poetry and music with Danilo Facelli and Hugo Martínez again.

This activity is the result of a CRA’P collaboration with the Casal Cultural of Mollet del Vallès through the program “CRA’P al Jardinet”.
