CRA’P Laboratories 2022

6th, 7th and 8th May at the Rural Environment of Gallecs

The laboratory proposes to carry out an investigation through images, by video means. It is about looking for essential images that speak for themselves and that are not hindered by the weight of words.
The context of Gallecs, the place chosen for the explorations, is the pretext to question the landscape and the entities that inhabit it with our eyes.
No special skills in the audio-visual field are required to participate.
Participants can bring with them on Saturday May 7th a video recording device: video camera, Tablet, iPad or iPhone.

Program

Friday: Introduction to the workshop, and a projection of video materials by Alessandro Quaranta followed by a debate. Next, screening of a selection of films.
Saturday: Exploration of Gallecs individually or by groups. Eating break. Afterwards, a time for dialogue. In the afternoon, explanation of the history of the place, anecdotes and characteristics. Last walk through Gallecs until sunset.
Sunday: Viewing of the material filmed by the participants during the exploration of Saturday. Conclusions.

Laboratory for anyone interested.

Alessandro Quaranta is a video artist. Graduated from the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti of Turin. In his creative practice he assumes a symbiotic immersive listening approach in regards to what catches his gaze; persons, objects or animals, that he records with the video. In his videos, he also records sensitive situations and contexts, starting from the natural and political, material and immaterial margins and boundaries. In particular, he pays attention to the relationship between spaces and the communities that inhabit them or cross them.
His works have been presented in solo and group shows in several countries in Europe.

Collaboration: Gallecs Neighbourhood Association
